In accordance with Canada's federal statutory frameworks, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)which governs commercial data handling in Ontario, when you choose to participate in relevant marketing campaigns such as "pre-save"/"pre-add", "follow"/"subscribe", or other artist/genre-based activities ("Campaign") conducted by Music Grant Inc. or its affiliates ("MGI", "we", or "us"), you are granting us explicit, meaningful consent to establish a connection with a specific music service or other third-party providers to access your user account for the purposes outlined below.
Data Acquired by MGI
Upon your authorization of our connection with a relevant music service or other third-party provider, MGI may access and retain certain or all of the following types of information ("Third-Party Data") from your user account:
Email Address: The email address associated with the music service or other third-party provider, where available to us.
Account Geolocation: Information regarding your user account, including but not limited to your country and specific regional geo-location data within Ontario or other Canadian territories.
Platform Activity Details: Content you’ve engaged with, comprising playlists and artists you follow, recently played tracks, or channel subscriptions.
Actions Taken by MGI
Depending on the nature of the Campaign in which you opt to participate, MGI will utilize the connection with the relevant music service or third-party provider to carry out one or more of the following actions for your user account:
Adding and removing items to your library or collection.
Creating, editing, and following playlists.
Subscribing to channels or other platform service features.
Following specific artists.
Furthermore, MGI may use some or all of your Third-Party Data for any of the following commercial purposes:
Artist & Genre Updates: To enhance our interaction with you by sending email updates about relevant artists, music genres, or related special offers, provided you have explicitly opted in to receive these communications.
Targeted Advertising: To send you other relevant marketing communications, including targeting and presenting advertisements via third-party platforms that we believe will be of interest to you.
Analytics: To conduct research and internal data analysis.
Your Options & Access Revocation
To revoke MGI's access to your account, kindly visit the settings dashboard of the relevant music or third-party service and follow their specified instructions:
Spotify: Disconnect access directly on the Spotify Apps Management Dashboard.
Apple Music: Revoke permissions via the Apple ID Security Settings Portal.
Deezer: Manage connected partners on theDeezer Connected Apps Directory.
YouTube: Control permissions using the Google Security Third-Party Access Manager.
X (Twitter): Revoke connected tokens through the X Connected Apps Settings Panel.
You can request the deletion of your Third-Party Data history by visiting our Preference Center and selecting "Please Delete All of My Information." Access our Preference Center via the unsubscribe or management link located in the footer of any email communication from MGI.
Alternatively, you can email our Canadian operations desk directly at contact@musicgrant.cafrom the email address associated with the relevant music service or third-party account to request the total erasure of your information. Please be aware that this action will cease MGI’s collection of Third-Party Data, but you will still need to manually revoke the original permission within the third-party service using the external links outlined above. Additionally, note that this will delete all active music subscriptions and historical account activity.
